Origin of CHALLINOR name?
Posted by: John Challinor Date: February 14, 2002 at 06:28:40

Having just really started to research my own genealogy, I am interested in the origin of the name. I am told it originated in France at a place called Chalons-sur-Marne and that it is a trade name for "a maker of blankets". However, I would be interested if anyone knows more than this? Does anyone know when the first CHALLINORs (of whatever spelling) appeared. If you think you can help, please do get in touch.

Many thanks,
John
