Jennifer:

I was excited to find your Challoner family interest in the Leicestershire area. My Challoner family came from the Walcote, Misterton, Lutterworth area of Leicestershire. The earliest entry I have is Zachariah Challoner b. 1806 in Walcote m. February 6, 1831 in Misterton d. February 8, 1867 in Walcote. Zachariah was married to Sophia Goodman b. 1809 in Ratby d. 1892 in Lutterworth. They had five children. They were William, James (my connection), Emma, Thomas and Elizabeth. James b. 1837? Walcote m. December 22, 1862 in Misterton and later in 1867 in Misterton d. March 2, 1912 in Walcote. He was married to Sarah Cheney first. They had 2 children I know of. They were Thomas (Tom) and Eleanor. The second marriage was to Matilda Busby. They had 6 children together. They were Zachariah (my connection), Sarah Ann, Agnes, Eliza, Alice and Martha Elizabeth. Does any of this sound familiar?
Hope to hear from you soon.
