There were indeed two Thomas Chawners in Cheadle born about the same time. In the graveyard at Cheadle to the left of the path running up to the south door there is a tombstone to Thomas Chawner "clerk of this church" who died 15th April 1836 and Ann his wife who died in 1852 aged 51, while my Dr Thomas Chawner was still alive in 1841 and died in 1844.
There is also a gravestone to William Chawner who died 1st April 1823 aged 52, together with William his son who died 3rd July 1826 aged 26 and Dorothy his wife who died 6th July 1831 aged 58.
I am fairly sure Thomas & Louisa's son William Henry must have died young - in letters giving news of aunt Chawner, Margaret Wolfe refers frequently to little Louisa but to no other child through the 1820s. Louisa Wolfe was already 36 when she married, which would explain their small family.
You do have the right Fosberys - there is a detailed tree of this family to be found at www.fosbery.tripod.com
