Delight Champlin
There is a tradition that Delight, the wife of David Utley, born about 1731, probably Connecticut; died 1827, Oneida Co, NY, was originally a Champlin.Utley trees list her as the daughter of Joshua and Bridget (Thompson) Champlin. However, their daughter Delight was born in 1855 and married Ebenezer Cary. There was another Delight Champlin who married Amariah Stanton in 1750 in Stonington, CT.They had two children, and he died in 1754.Does anyone know what happened to her?Did she go to Claverack, NY, and marry David? What was her family of origin? The House of Champlin lists her without attachment or followup, just as she is in the Stonington records.
