I figured as much abt. Madeleine. I'm from Gilles and Angelique. Not positive yet but one person says she and Gilles both died in 1731 in Quebec, i think, and another says Gilles died in Kaskaskia 1754, don't quote me. I'm going by recall. Two different accounts, both from reference materials. How to clear that one up is a mystery to me. (anyone who knows the answer, feel free to jump in).
I had seen the first two kids born to Gilles--just hadn't researched other than glancing over names. I also have some Perthuis' names in my line...Marie-Louise Perthuis (no dates) d/o Pierre Perthuis and Catherine Mallet, marries Francois Lalumondiere (I have) b.1715 Montreal,Que., d. 1784. Any info on them?
I'm in Kentucky, not too far from Ste. Genevieve/Kaskaskia area. I haven't made it "up' there yet but plan on doing so and Southern Illinois University/Carbondale has an enormous repository. Have seen other Cabassier's in documents of region. do you lack any info on her line? Let me know. Where are you?
Curious how much you have on Gilles/Angelique's kids--I'm from Joseph & Rivard's son Francois. The father Joseph(referred to as "the Sr. Charleville" and sons, my Francois, Louis and Charles (perhaps Jean Baptiste too) are in the 'George Roger's Clark Papers' collection on line, from the Revolutionary War period.
Did you do much on Gilles & Angelique's kids?
