George Chase Early San Francisco maritime trader
I'm researching a bark that was an early coastal trader, coming to Puget Sound in the 1850s. Captain George Chase was her owner from 1851 to 1865. Looking for anyone related to George Chase. He ran a cargo shipping business with his son-law, Williamm Bourn. I am hoping that someone has followed this New England man's story in San Francisco. I believe that I have the right name. He came to San Francisco in 1849. His daughter was Sarah Chase Bourn.
I have shipping articles for my bark with his name on it, but no documents of his business. It would be wonderful to learn more about him.
