Chattersons from Colborne Ontario

I am researching my grandmother's paternal line, Chatterson. The moved to Colborne before 1839 and may have originated from Ernestown. The people I am looking for are Charlotte (McDonald) Chatterson (1790 - Feb17, 1885) and her husband Elias Chatterson (1801 - April 17, 1882). I think that Charlotte was in the area but I don't have any links for Elias. I know that they had several children (Alexander Grey, Amerilla, Elias Wright, Emma, George, Empherm, Flavia, Laura, Ellen, Lottie) but I am unsure where the parents or children were born. Also, I have some information on Charlotte's parents. Their names were Charlotte Grey (1787 - November 13, 1829) and Alexander McDonald (1769-Nov. 21, 1852). It is rumoured that there is a United Empire Loyalist link but I haven't been able to trace it. Most of the family is buried at the Salem cemetary. I would love to be able to connect Elias Chatterson to the past.

Does any of this sound familiar to you? I will let you know if I find any connection.

Regards,
Bonnie Slade
