Howdy Susan, there were several Georgia men held at Pt. Lookout MD till the end of the war. My Ggrandfather Samuel was one of them.

Samuel was captured near Petersburg, Va. March 25, 1865 and released at Point Lookout, Md. June 26, 1865.

There was probably other Chancey/Chaunceys that were there at the same time Samuel was, however I do not have that info.

What was the given name of the Chauncey that your friend is looking for?
