Hello Chuck. I have some undocumented information that I do believe is correct. Most of what I have for the New England Chauncey's came down from a well researched source several years ago, when we southern Chancey's were under the impression that we would connect to the Chauncey's somewhere.

That has now been disproved with DNA..but, I have retained my Chauncey data base anyway.

I have Lenora Belle Chancey b. '1873' to William R Chancey and Mary Jane Knopp of Jackson County, West Virginia.

William was a son of Calvary Chancey and Martha 'Hettie' Westfall of either Jackson or Roane County, WV.

The line goes back to Charles and Catharine Eyre Chauncey of Massachusetts. Charles was the immigrant from England in May, 1638. He was also the second President of Harvard U.

This line is very well documented by William Chauncey Fowler who wrote the Memorials to the Chaunceys in 1858.

It goes like this:

Charles Chauncy/Catherine Eyre > Israel Chauncey/Mary Nichols > Isaac Chauncey/Sarah Blackleach > Charles Chauncey/Sarah Ingram > Israel Chauncey/Elizabeth Petty > Roswell Chauncey/Content _?_ > Hiram Chauncey<>Chancey/Isabel Meadows(This is where the u was dropped) > Calvary Chancey/Martha 'Hettie' Westfall > William R Chancey/Mary Jane Knopp >>> Lenora Belle Chancey

Regards, Robert
