How can I ever thank you! My grandmother was trying to find an ancestor to get her into the DAR [as was her mother-in-law - a little competition there, I think]. With your info, I'm now certain that the penciled notes she had were copied from a DAR member's records.
Her father, William A, has been one of those on going mysteries and your information is the JACKPOT. There is too much similarity to be coincidence, as you say.
