I am 63 years old and through out the years my family has told of our connection to the Chauncey/Chancey family in the North. They told of the first Chauncey to the new land as arriving in the early 1500s and that we were connected to Charles Chauncey. My family gravitated from the Northeast to VA then to TN and now in other places. If you have any information to share I would appreciate your help. My Great Grandfather was Matthew Chauncey of the Union Tennessee Volunteers and he migrated from VA and Eas TN through Murphy, NC, Ducktown, TN and on to Mobry, TN. His father or Grandfather is said to be John Chauncey. If you think you can help in any way it would help me complete the geneology for my daughters and grand children. Email me and I will provide to you a copy of all of my research if it will help. I have aprox 3,000 names of Chauncey decendents. Thank you very much for taking the time.

James Wilburn Chauncey
