Any Chavanas in 19th century Creole Alabama?

I am interested in researching the Chavana family. My great-great grandmother was born Julia Chavana, in 1864 in Mobile, Alabama. Her family were French speaking Creoles. Her father was (I think) Vincent Chavana, b. 1839 in Mobile. His father was also a Vincent Chavana.
All the Chavanas I've seen on the board are in the southwest, Mexico, or western Louisiana. Does anyone know about an Alabama connection?
