Hello Mary,

Here are two more Chavana from Alabama. Corinne Chavana (b: Abt 1835, Mobile, AL) who married Benine Calderon on Jan 13, 1853 in Mobile. The second Chavana is Emilie Variant Chavana (b: Feb 22, 1842 in Mobile); her mother was Mary Anne Chavana (no maiden name or father listed). Recognize them?

I found them (including those in my prior message) at the Mormon site ( In the Search section enter Chavana, nothing else and request search. I also play around with entering Mexico or United states with Chavana (and nothing else). Note there is an "exact spelling" option.

I am going to augment my file with the additional names you provided. I checked my file for John and Agustin Chavana to see if there was a match, but no such luck.

I am very interested in the photographs. You mentioned downloading them; if you give me the website I can easily download them. Are any of Gwendolyn Hall's records available on line?

Do you have any more Chavana up to the early 1900s? I look forward to our further findings.

Tom Rodriguez
