Hi Mary,
Thank you for the clarity of your information, it enabled me to incorporate several names into my Chavana file!
While surfing the web I found information on three isolated Chavana from the 1900s; who knows, they may get connected later. Corinnne Chavana (b: Jan 13, 1853 in Mobile, AL) married Benine Calderon on January 13, 1853. Emile Variant Chavana (b; Feb 22, 1842 in Mobile) was the son of Mary Anne Chavana (no maiden name listed).
The above is a byproduct of my interest in a (previously mentioned) Ramon Chavana (b: 1776), born in Lampazos, who then married and had 13 children in Nacogdoches, TX and Natchitoches, LA. Well, I found that one of his daughters (Maria Guadalupe Chavana, b:1801 married Jose Antonio Sepulveda b:1781) proceeded to surpass her father by having 14 Sepulveda children. If you ever get a hunch that the Chavana from Alabama are connected to the Chavana from Louisiana please let me know.
Since Vincent Chavana Jr was born in 1839, indeed I would appreciate information on their daughters (only). While my primary interest is to improve MY Chavana (and Rodriguez) connections (in my lineage deeply rooted in Lampazos), in the process my information may help others. I.e. Someone who knows their Chavana grandparent relations may rapidly find more ancestors in the information I have accumulated. Thus, my interest in other Chavana branches is limited to the late 1800s and very early 1900s.
Regarding the photo information, on second thought I would like to pass - per the above. Searching for Gwendolyn Midlo Hall (impressive historian!) I did see the CD reference but did not find anything on line. My initial interest goes back to see if I could find Louisiana information pertaining to my French ancestor, Miguel Chauvain (previously mentioned) who spent some time in New Orleans before settling in Lampazos. This area of search has become a dead-end for me.
Thank you,
Tom Rodriguez

FYI - In this recent search I encountered email addresses for several Chavana individuals in the Southeastern USA and a few in Mexico; I am drafting something that may spike their interest to them so they may join this forum - we need more traffic!
