Joyce Cheek Luffman lists William P. as the son of Willis and Susannah, acknowledging that the evidence is circumstantial. She notes that family members said William P. and a brother named Russell.
In the 1830 census, Willis had a son between 5 and 10, who is unidentified. In the 1840 census, he had 2 sons under 5, Oliver & Rollin; 2 between 10 and 15, Russel & unidentified; and 1 between 15 and 20, unidentified.William P. based on the 1860 census fits that older slot.
If he is the son of Willis, it means Willis and Susannah lost 4 sons in war.
