Cheek Family of Birmingham, Alabama
Hi cousins - I feel like some sort of missing link.Just discovered this site today, went through all 10 pages of Cheek postings. Finally had a shock of recognition when someone asked about Pendleton Cheek b Texas 1860 - my great uncle.Momentarily gratified that my ggrandfather,Tolbert Fanning Cheek - a B'am founder - was mentioned.I've been at this since 1975 or so, thanks to Roger B Foushee. He visited me when I lived in NYC (now in LA)and I was bitten by the bug.Though I've experienced a 20 year hiatus, I do know that the B'ham Cheek's are related to the Oregon Cheek's, Joel Cheek of Nashville (Maxwell House Coffee), and I/we too, are descended from Ellis.Today confused me a bit as I wonder if there is more than one Ellis Cheek from the same period. My research suggests mine was born in England, but someone mentioned that was a falsehood, so . . . I can supply a travel line for my Cheek's, if that is still being done. Anyway, I won't be speedy and I do have to dig out all of my research, but I carry much in my head, so contact me if you want more.Glad to meet you all!
