John Cheney-Groton or Dunstable 1784
Posted by: Bradley Murray (ID *****5355) Date: June 21, 2008 at 09:24:33
  of 1923

I have been trying to document a Grandmother, Mary Cheney b: abt 1784 Massachusetts who m: 18 Nov 1805 Boston, Samuel Bowers b: 28 Nov 1775 Groton, Mass. The Family migrated to Jonesboro, Maine and settled in Machias, Maine.

In the time frame of 1784 to 1805 there were two possible Cheney households in Groton and the adjacent town of Dunstable, John Cheney Jr. and Lt. John Cheney and yet none show a daughter Mary Cheney, does anyone have any information on Mary Cheney? None of the children of Mary and Samuel match the names of the wifes of the Cheney's or the offspring. Any speculation would be appreciated.
