Greetings,
I found a very old document with the name Cheney on it. The document is from 1835. I have it scanned.
It says: (In Part)

(i can't tell what this is) the county of Middlesex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts (sic) yoman in considerationof Three hundred dollars and paid by John M. Cheney as treasurer of the Middlesex Institution for savings the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, sell and convey unto the said John M. Cheney as such treasurer his successors and ? a certain piece of land in oncord in said county containing about tewnty two acres with & dwelling house and barri? and the same bounded beginnings at the southwest corner by land of Elizabeth Berry thence ? by land of Thomas Hubbard to concord river.
It goes on and is signed July 25, 1835. Other signers are Nathan Brooks, Daniel Kittredge, Samuel G. Hollowell, John M. Cheney.
It appears to be an old mortgage.I thought you would find this interesting. I had thought of placing it on an auction site, but decided to try and find family members first.
