The information from your book is most interesting. I wonder who was deceased in that statement because Philip
Chesley of VA died between 18Dec1674 and 10May1675 according to his will.
I have not yet found a male(required for y-DNA testing) descendant of Philip Chesley of 1600's Virginia. Most of the members of the site descend from Philip Chesley of Durham, NH. We also have one Chesley whose family originated from France. I am hoping to connect both Philips thru DNA testing because circumstantial evidence shows them both coming from the same area in England.
