Amable Chevalier
Here is what I have:
Amable "Pakwakona" Chevalier
Born: c.1742 [likely at Mackinac]
Father: Louise-Therese Chevalier
Mother (first wife): Ottawa woman
Died: April 17, 1833 at Lac des Deux Montagnes (Oka), Quebec
Wife: Catherine "Kimiquenan" Chenier (Kinii8ena), also Ottawa
Daughter: Marie Louise Chevalier
Born: August 15, 1787 [according to Cyprien Tanguay]
Married: Francois Otjik (Odjik)
Died: January 18, 1852 at Oka
Amable traded throughout Michigan, Wisconsin and Canada. He was a chief at Croche d'Arbre and Deux Montagnes. He fought as a warrior and as a lieutenant (who was distinguished in the War of 1812).
I was hoping to learn more about Amable's mother. It was mentioned on this board that her name was Josephte, and I was hoping to know the source of this information.
As well, August 31, 1802, a Marie Louise Chevalier and her brother Paul Chevalier (wife Catherine) appeared as sponcerers at a baptism at Michilmakinac.Does anyone have any information on this Paul Chevalier?
