SARAH LAFFARRY RILEA, after a week of suffering from injuries received by a fall, passed away at the home of her daughter, MRS. JOHN CHEW, near Hopeville, Iowa, January 27, at l0 a.m.
Grandma RILEA was 83 years of age.Her husband, JOSEPH R. RILEA, preceded her to their Heavenly Home 5 years.Five of their eight children yet remain:MRS. JOHN CHEW, MRS. N.A. CARITON, MRS. H.J. LANDIS, MRS. L.D. MILLER, MRS. LOUIS LENT.
The deceased was converted and united with the M.E. Church when twelve years of age, and lived in that relation to God and the church all her subsequent life.Hers was a beautiful and consistent Christian life.Her children and all coming generations have an unsurpassed interitance in the memory of her excellent Christian character and life.A richer treasure than this cannot be left to posterity.
The funeral services were conducted at Gregg Chapel by Chas. C. Wilkins, Pastor of the M.E. Church at Grand River, and interment took place in the Gregg Cemetery east of Hopeville by the side of her deceased husband.
