Greetings Trevor! I am sorry that I can't help you back to James but maybe you can help me trace mine back a little. My family emigrated to America in the 1870's but we can trace back to Thomas and Catherine Chew (no dates available) who were residents of Over (Lower?) Darwen, Parish of Blackburn, County of Lancashire. Thomas was a shopkeeper. I am descended through his son John P. Chew (born 6/11/1838) married Jane Longworth (born 8/6/1835).They had three sons, Thomas (born 1861), John (born 1865) and Edward (born 1867). The family home was at 116 Stanley Street in Darwen Village. John P. Chew was employed as a power loom weaver. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Who knows, we may even be related!
