Hello Diane The Chew line came from Bristol England to Jamestown in 1623. They moved to Md in 1650s and then some back to Va before 1700s. Of the three sons, the line of John became the NY line, from Joseph became the Va line, and Samuel became the Pa line. A good reference source is "The Genealogy of The Chew" written by Robert Chew. It follows all three lines of family and immediate children giving birth, deaths, location, spouses names and children names for a period of 250 years In looking up Roger, I see one, son of Samuel born 1747 Va and another, the son of John born 1779. If interested, can find the book address, think price is 40-50 dollars. I am about 11 generation of the Va. line on my mothers side. Bob
