From my information, Coleby is the son of Thomas Chew, born 1700, died 1782, and his mother, wife of Thomas, Martha Taylor . She was the daughter of Col James Talyor and Martha Thompson and married Thomas in 1722. My brother was telling me about a book he read that described the Cumberland expedition and it mentioned Coleby
who was a young boy, being part of it. Our Chew line
comes from James, the youngest son of Thomas and Martha Chew. Bob Ohio
