I am interested in your forbearer Benjamin Johnston married to Dorothy Jones. Do you have any link that Benjamin Johnston had a middle name of Ware?
I am discovering that the Larkin Chew, Capt/Lord William Johnston and Nicholas/Edward Ware families were in the early Virginia Legislature and their children married.
Illus. Your Ann Chew, daughter of Larkin Chew married
William Johnston, son of Capt/Lord William Johnston. His
brother James Johnston married Mary Chew, Daughter of Larkin Chew in 1723. Earlier James had marred Mary Ware, daughter of Edward Ware b 1772, son of Nicholas Ware II

I am of Benjamin Ware Johnston line, who settled in Greenville, SC. I am attempting to nail down the WARE.
You have identified the William JOhnson/Ann Chew connection and their son Benjamin Johnston who married Dorothy Jones.
My Benjamin Ware's Johnston's three sons married three Young sisters and moved toLaurel(Knox)County Kentucky about the 1816 period.

Do you have any notation in your records of the middle name of your Benjamin Johnston, being WARE. The source
may be that Benjamin's uncle's( William Johnston) wife
would have been Mary WARE. Do you have any mention in your notations of a WARE conntection to your William and Benjamin Johnston There is a Ware connection to Ware Shoals, SC. near Greenville.

Thanks for your help. Hoping>
