Grove Have no specific information about Mary or Thomas
Pepple. Her father Colby came into Southern Ohio in 1815 along with his brother Joseph Chew. Joseph settled in Ross County in Southern Ohio (my Chew Line) and Colby settled in Highland County which adjoins Ross County. He was in that county till 1844 and moved into Illinois. It is possible that Mary and Thomas came into Ohio with him. There were many Virginia Chews who came thru this area that settled in South Western Ohio and some went on into Indiana and Illinois. I did check Bob Chew's "Genealogy of Chew" records showing Mary's marriage To Thomas (7 Dec 1808). Good luck. Bob Chillicothe, Ohio
