I am working on the Child family for a cousin whose mother was born CHILD.

Her father was Henry William Child (according to her 1914 Marr Licence) and he would have been born c 1860-73 but we dont know where! There is a rumour that Waterford, Ireland was where she was born but we have been unable to substantiate this.

In my research I have found the CHILD family in London and Brighton who were heavly involved with the British East India Company. Some of them were officers in the Bengal Marine and later the Royal Navy. Some of their offspring emigrated to Kansas and TN. Others stayed in UK aroud London / Brighton areas and some live there today.

I found the other day data about the Clulow family patriarch, Willaim, whose will refers to his friend and executor Robert Child. 2 of Clulows daughers - Elizabeth and Martha both married Child boys and that was far from the end of this family connection.

Can anyone offer me any info on the Henry William CHILD or Childs in Waterford Ireland circa 1900?

I'll be glad to swap what I have including potential contact with four living Child descendants happy to find more cousins!
