Found infomation in a family bible that my sister had. It was the family bible from George K. and Ella Nunn Chinn. Bible entries include John W. Chinn (GK's father, b. 1822 & d. 1857) married in 1852 to Eliza C. (or K.) Chinn (b. 1830 and d. 1854 with infant Noah S. Chinn (b. 1854).
So George Kerfoot Chinn would have been raised in another family given that both parents had passed away by his 6th birthday.
There is reference to a John W. and Elizabeth Chinn having one son John Calvert Chinn (born same year as GK (1852) in Shelby KY (the same town that his mother and Noah died in 2 years later.
Would anyone have any information regarding a George Calvert Chinn or is it possible that George Calvert Chinn may have become George Kerfoot?
