Thank you very much for the info. The land where Andrew Carnegie built his J Edger Thompson Steel Works was very close to Braddocks Field where General Braddock was wounded July 9 1754. He died of his wounds the next day near Christopher Gist's farm. Col George Washington was with General Braddock at the Battle. Maybe this is all coincidence and maybe not. I do know a Myers family was married into the Chinn family in Loudoun County VA. The Chinn's were neighbors to Lt Col Leven Powell of Middleburg Va in Loudoun County. Leven Powell was the second largest landowner in Kentucky. Jacob Myers is well recorded to be the largest landowner in Kentucky. He also built an Iron Works at Slate Creek Kentucky. I have records that put them both in the same room at the Loudoun courthouse on a Chinn family land deal. I also found records that Leven Powell was doing business with a Cockey family from Baltimore. John Cockey Owings from Baltimore was a business partner of Jacob Myers in building the Iron Works in Kentucky. John Cockey Owing's aunt was Susan Cockey. She was married to Christopher Gist's brother Thomas Gist. Their son was Gen Mordecai Gist who was a close personal friend of General George Washington. The Mordecai Family of cannon expert Major Alfred Mordecai was related to silversmith Myers Myers. Silversmith Myer Myers was George Washington's close friend and personal silversmith. If indeed the Carnegie family of Andrew Carnegie was related to the Chinn, Ball, Washington families, then I believe I have a connection that is more then a coincidence which leads back to J Edger Thompson.
