I hope you are still on here. I saw your post and was just curious if you may have found anymore info on this John CHOATE. My gggrandfather was John CHOATE, I don't know his middle name or even if he had one. What I find curious is the his age seems to indicate that he may have been born abt 1844, about the same time my John was born. My John later married Martha MARTIN and had a child in 1865, Samuel Alexander. Samuel had a sister named Matilda, although she was married to a man named REDFERN/REDMOND. Do you think this Matilda could have been an aunt she was named after? Does the census record say what nationality they were. I have hit a brick wall here and would appreciate any help. ThanksPamn
