Hi sheila I have just found this web site. My name is Karl Chorlton, My grand father was George A. Chorlton Sr. co-founder of the Chorlton foundry in Somerset Mass. now out of business. My Father George A. Chorlton jr. (Sonny) Had worked in the foundry till his mid 20's and I do remember visiting there on occasion as a child before it closed. In an old bible I have a bill of lading from a chorlton iron works in manchester england. The chorltons in Somerset Mass. are not what I would call close, so I have very little information on our family tree. If you or any one else can shed some light on this branch of the tree I would be very greatfull.
