Lewis (Louis) W. and Helena (Snyder) Christ
Posted by: Heather Dominguez (ID *****8885) Date: October 10, 2010 at 14:18:20
  of 283

Lewis is my 3rd great grandfather. He was born Feb. 1852 in Germany, and married Helena in 1875. The 1900 Census lists immigration year as 1882, and the 1910 Census says they immigrated in 1886.

Helena was born Aug 1854 in Germany. I found her and the children on CastleGarden.org. 14 Oct 1882 on the "Nederland." Travelling with her are:

Friedr Christ, age 4
Ludwig Christ, age 2
Adam Christ, age 4m

As far as I know, their children were:
Frederick, b. 1878
John, b. 1883
Effie, b. 1884
Edwin, b. 1887
Michael, b. 1887
Josephine, b. 1890

In 1887, my 2nd great grandfather, Edwin Crist was born in PA. In 1900, they lived in Greensboro, Maryland, and in 1910, they were back in Bucks County, PA. In 1920, both Lewis and Helena were still living in Bucks County.

Edwin is buried in Coopersburg, PA, but I cannot find where the rest of the family is. Lewis was not included in the passenger records with Helena. I checked passenger records from 1880 to 1887, and Lewis wasn't on any of them. In 1882, there was a female Louise, but the age is wrong. When did Lewis Immigrate? Any information would be appreciated!
