That is certainly a interesting set of similar names and surnames. My grandmother Edith Jane Chubb was born in Street 28 Feb 1879. Daughter of Joseph and Mary Jane Browning Chubb. Joseph was a shoemaker born in Beaminster, and living in Street in the 1881 census. He was in Walton, 1 1/2 mile away in the 1871 census, Street in the 1861 census. Joseph gets married in about 1854, location unknown. His mother Ann Travers Chubb, a widow, is in Beaminster in the 1851 census with Joseph, and 5 other children. In the 1841 census everyone is in Beaminster, Henry, his wife Ann Travers Chubb and 5 children, including Joseph. Ann's mother Ann Cooper Travers, wife of John Travers, lives in Netherbury, Dorset, an independant widow. I had trouble sorting out the Travers, and ever more trouble with the Chubbs. Everybody is using the same first and last names for generations. I think I've got it right once the census starts, but it gets very hard further back. I haven't run across a Chubb from my line who has it really worked out. Will
