CFA has no detailed information about James Bryan CHURCHILL other than this about his father BENJAMIN CHURCHILL: "Born near Hartford, Conn., Dec. 11, 1789. Removed first to the Black River Country, N.Y., and thence, about 1818, to Newbern, N.C. The account of this family has come to the editor since the mention of Benjamin, on page 362. Married HENRIETTA WOOD."

What it says on p362 is simply: "He. was last heard of in 1858, in Newbern, N.C."

I would suggest that you contact Malcolm Churchill who posts on this list. He is a Connecticut CHURCHILL and has recently published a book on your Connecticut family. He may have additional information. I am only passing on original CFA information on your line.
