IA Sally M., born Aug. 19, 1856 probably Allamakee IA died before 1912 Jasper IA married Edgar (Edward) Scarborough ******************* I have quite a bit more which I would be happy to share with you. I see you have Levi as born Dutchess Co. NY Do you have anything showing this as correct as the papers I have show him born Litchfield CT. Actually all the children are shown born there except for Achsie and Luman who are shown born Stamford, Dutchess NY. Laura has a ?? next to CT But I also have Edward as being listed in census as 1800 Litchfield, CT - indexed as Edad Churchil - number in family matches - 1 male (Edward) 1 female under 10 - Sarah and 1 female 16-26 - Margery 1810 Stanford, Dutchess NY - again all the numbers match for males and females and ages 2 males under 10- Edward and Levi 1 male 26-44 - Edward 2 females under 10 - Abigail and Laura 2 females 10-15 - Sarah and Martha 1 female 26-44 - Margery 1820 Canajoharie, Montgomery, NY 3 males under 10 - John, Stephen and Luman 2 males 10-16 Edward and Levi 1 male under 45 1 female under 10 Achsie Marie 1 female 10-16 Laura 1 female 16-26 Abigail 1 female 26-45 Margery Martha was married by then and I think we can assume Sarah was as well. 1830 CANAJOHARIE, MONTGOMERY, NY 2 males 10-15 - Stephen and Luman 1 male 15-20 - John 1 male 50-60 - Edward 1 female 5-10- Olive 1 female 40-50 - Martha also right next to his name is Sarah Humphrey and bottom of page is Adam Gensman. There is another Edward listed in Montgomery Co, who is likely son Edward. Martha was married, Sarah likely married, Abigail married, Edward likely married, Levi was married, Laura was married, Achsie was married so that accounts for all. 1840 BOSTON, ERIE, NY Edward Churchill 1 male 5-10 1 male 20-30 1 male 60-70 - Edward 1 female 15-20 - Olive 1 female 50-60 - Martha ** I'm not sure who the two younger males would be unless they are a son and grandson?? On same page are his son Edward and son Levis M. , John Anthony, Nathan Humphrey so lots of family close together. I wonder where Nathan was in 1830 when wife Sarah was listed as head of house. 1850 BOSTON, ERIE, NY CHURCHILL Edward, age 75 , farmer, born CT Martha, age 65 born CT 1860 CONCORD, ERIE, NY CHURCHILL Edward, age 87, farmer, born CT Martha, age 75, born Ct Here is the cemetery entry for Edward and wife Martha - buried in Cobble Hill Cemetery, Boston, Erie NY B56 CHURCHILL, EDWARD DIED FEB 24, 187_ AE 97 YRS 4 MS & 20 DAYS (husband of Martha) B55 CHRUCHILL, MARTHA AE 79 YRS 5 MS & 26 DAYS Wife of Edward Churchill also J39 DRAKE, SARAH B. [SUSAN] DIED DEC 11 1875 AE 76 Years & 24 ds. WIFE OF WHEELER DRAKE J40 DRAKE, WHEELER DIED SEPT. 1_ 1869 ae 69 Years (husband of Sarah) You can see these at: http://files.usgwarchives.org/ny/erie/cemeteries/boston/cobblehill.txt I'm not sure but think 187_ might mean 1870 which would make his birth 1773 as you thought. In papers I have, Margery Morse Churchill is shown as born May 19, 1778 Litchfield (Wallingford?) CT and dying there before Oct. 1821 There is an interesting story I would like to tell you about the family but it is too long to type out here so if you email me I will be happy to send you the story that way. My email is cllaporte@gmail.com I don't know how much you have on Edward (the father of Levi) so will gvive you what I have on his parents and siblings. Also can you tell me where you got his birth date of 1772 from. I have it as 1765-67 I have Edward's parents as Edward Churchill born Sept. 4, 1848 Greenwich CT and Mary Montross - no more info on her their children: Edward Jr. born 1765-67 Hartford or Westhaven CT married 1) Margery Morse 1797 Litchfield, CY 2. Martha Morse 1826 Boston, NY I have death year for Edward as 1867 Boston, Erie, NY Abigail, born Feb. 5, 1774 married Elijah Lake about 1796 Westhaven CT or Millerton, Dutchess NY Edward born 1848 is said to have died while his children were very young which I suppose explains why there were only two children. Edward born 1765-67 or 1773 as you have was apparently a Capt. I have a notation that says when his parents both died when he was a young child he was bong out to a Mr. Buckingham. It also says he and his family moved to NY about 1830. Following the line back: Edward Churchill born about 1718 Fairfield CT married about 1841 to Esther Hull Children: James born Dec. 25, 1742 Greenwich CT died in infancy John, born June 3, 1744 Greenwich, CT married 1) Mercy? Allen 2) Sarah Esther, born May 11, 1746 Greenwich CT Edward, born Sept. 4, 1748 Greenwich died in early manhood Sarah, born 1750 Greenwich, CT married Gabriel Allen Nov. 10, 1774 Milford, Newhaven CT ******************* Edward Churchill born about 1679-1690 married March 1, 1714 Red Church Flushing, Queens NY to Weyntie/Wyntje/Wanch Rider/Ryder Edward died April 16, 1757 Wappinger, Fishkill, NY Weyntie was christened March 29, 1691 RFD Church, New York City died after Edward Father - John Ryder mother Theunis Siboutszen children: Abel, born 1716 Jamaica NY John, born 1718 Robert Anne, married July 28, 1739 Fishkill, NY to Isaac Coffin Levina, born about 1722 married John Totten Edward, born about 1718, married Esther Hull ************************** I have a transcript of the will of Edward Churchill, husband of Weyntie. Looks like he wrote the will 3 days before he died. I guess he knew he was dying. So, email me and I will share what else I have with you. Carolyn L Notify Administrator about this message?
