Might I impose upon a Genealogy angel to give me the Google Earth coordinates to locate Bushy Park, the home of William Churchill. I am working on an interpretation, that, while not critical to my outcome, would support one contention of my assumptions. I located an early map: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d8/Kitfry-1-.jpg that roughly "x"s the spot as "Churchill" (you can keep clicking on the map to enlarge. Look under the red line, on the north side of the pensular, at the southern tip.) I located an article written in 2005 that describes the property for Virginia Living By Tim Sprinkle. In it he states the following clues as to the location: These days, Wilton (Bushy Park) sits at the center of a modest, 25-acre plot a few hundred yards from the Piankatank River. T-shaped layout. The front hall overlooks the southern end of the yard. Set back off the road and neatly bordered on three sides by squat boxwood bushes. There are stunning views of the surrounding farm from just about every window, and although the waterfront property was sold off generations ago, the river can still be seen to the southwest. I have tried as I said to locate it on Google Maps (the bird's eye view--amazing), and it sounds like it is located south of the area that is marked on the early map. Again, this might, or not, lend an important clue to my interpretation, and any help is greatly appreciated. Regards, Jane Notify Administrator about this message?
