There is a Betsy Churchill, daughter of Charles Churchill and Abigail Russell and they lived in Plymouth or perhaps Plympton, Mass. Betsy was born 19 March 1823 which matches the birth date of the Betsey on the sampler. She would have been age 12 at the time the sampler was made. Samplers were usually made by young school girls as a part of their domestic skills training. The siblings, Mary, Rebecca and Charles listed in CFA match the siblings on the sampler.
I think this is the more likely candidate. The other Betsy mentioned in Williams message would have been 46 years old in 1835 and that family lived in Chittenden, Vermont in 1835 when the sampler was made, although they had lived in Plympton, Mass. earlier.
Betsy, Charles and Abigail were also descendents of John Churchill and Hannah Pontus of the Plymouth Colony.
