General Sylvester Churchill was the commander of Fort Churchill in Navada in the 1850's. His partner and aide by very solid West Point records was Col George Croghan. Col Croghan was the brother of William Croghan who married Lucy Clark the sister of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition out of Pittsburgh in 1803.

General Churchill was well recorded to be related to English Winston Churchill and Abbey Churchill who married Meriwether Lewis Clark the son of William Clark. Lucy Clark would be CSA Col Meriwether Lewis Clark's aunt.

You can find some of the Churchill/Clark families buried near Susan B Anthony at Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester NY. They are in the Clark/Churchill lot. Susan B Anthony was DAR related to David Reed who served under Col John Brown during the Revolution.

Then there is a monument to William Croghan at Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh. Many of these families were connected to Edwin Doty of the Mayflower.

This goes on to the next section of my research including the Hutchison family who were well known in Boston and to the native Americans in Boston at the time of the Mayflower.

There is a little story I am working on that Chief King Phillip was related to Pocahontas connecting Jamestown VA to the Boston area.
