Kelly,
My great-grandmother, Amanda Jane Cissna, was a sister of Josephus Cissna. He was born 2 March,1845 in Spencer County, Indiana. He had a twin sister named Josephine. His father was Joseph I and his mother was Mary (Polly) Hamilton. I have his wife's first name as Lydia but I don't have her last name.
Josephus was not at the Battle of Lookout Mountain which took place on 24-25 November , near Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Josephus enlisted for service in the Civil War on 25 January, 1864 at Rockport , Indiana. He was mustered into service on 30 January, 1864 at Indianapolis , Indiana in Company "F" ,1st Regiment, Indiana Cavalry. He was transfered to Company "A" on 23 August 1864. My Great-grandfather, John Prosser, husband of Amanda ,was also in the 1st Indiana Cavalry
Josephus Cissna was on duty at various places in Arkansas until June, 1865. He was mustered out of service on 22 June,1865 at Indianapolis, Indiana. According to his military records, he was 19 years old at the time of his enlistment. He was 5ft. 8in. tall with blue eyes and light hair.
I have a picture of the Cissna family posing in front of a building. I can identify Amanda, Joseph II, and Josephus. I can send you a copy if you want one. I have a little more information if you want to e-mail me
