His compiled service records states the following:
Mustered in to Company "F" 18th Texas Infantry April 25, 1862 at Marion County Texas.Joined for duty at Mt. Pleasant same day. Enrolled by W.B. Ochiltree for three years service. On Sept/Oct muster roll,is listed as absent without leave. Same for November 1862 roll.December roll shows still absent and has been since September 25,1862.Present on Jan /Feb 1864 roll.No further record.
Beginning rank Private,Ending rank Private.
