A.S. JOHNSTON, and was by his side when he fell at Shiloh. -George W. GIFT joined the navy and has been promoted to a lieutenancy. -William M. JONES, brother-in-law of A.P. CRITTENDEN, is one of the most reliable quartermasters in the service. He was at Belmont and Shiloh. -Carman FRAZEE, commonly called "Dad," is clerk to Capt. JONES. -Dillon JORDON is also with Capt. JONES, as superintendent of transportation. -William R. BOWER, Dave McKENZIE, Tom STONEHOUSE, Wm. M. SKINNER and Warren TAYLOR, are with RIDLEY. -William N. ROBINSON, of San Diego, is in HARDCASTLE's regiment. He was on board the Arkansas at Vicksburg. -J.J. DILLARD commands a company of partisan rangers. -Aaron B. HARDCASTLE is colonel of a Mississippi regiment. -R.A. BREWER is colonel of cavalry. -H.B. DAVIDSON has not a regiment at present. He is in Virginia. -J.L. BRENT is chief of ordinance on General MAGRUDER's staff. -Harry I. THORNTON, ex-Senator from Sierra, was at the disaster at Fishing Creek; also at Shiloh and Baton Rouge. -W.W. PORTER, of Calaveras, was with THORNTON. -Joseph P. VAUGHN, formerly Clerk of Solano county, and clerk in the Secretary of State's office, is a major in the Missouri division of the army under PRICE. -In that army also are Dewitt C. GAGE, who is a sutler; Thomas S. STEVESN, 1st Lieutenant of cavalry -- made his way from the ranks by gallant conduct; John T. CRENSHAW, ex-Senator from Nevada, captain; Robert C. WOOD, who accompanied CRABB in his fatal expedition to Sonora, is lieutenant-colonel and aid to General PRICE. -Calhoun BENHAM was a volunteer aid to Gen. JOHNSTON and was with him at Shiloh. -Samuel H. BROOKS, late Controller of State, is living in Montgomery, Alabama, with his family. -CRITTENDEN, ex-Senator from El Dorado, is adjutant of a South Carolina regiment. -William M. GWIN is in Mississippi. His son is in the cavalry service. -Major ARMISTEAD is a brigadier-general. Notify Administrator about this message?
