While his name may have been Ferer, don't overlook the fact that he was recorded as Ferrer. It is Ferrer in the National Archives, as well as in civilwardata.com, that obtained their info from "History of PA Volunteers 1861-1865".

He was enlisted as a private on 9-6-61, assigned as a blacksmith & farrier, and was discharged for disability on 2-5-63. Residence not recorded.
