Assuming his family didn't take him home to the family cemetery, he is probably in the City Point National Cemetery. When the National cemeteries were created after the war, the men were re-interred to the closest National Cemetery.

The URL for the City Point National Cemetery is:

http://www.interment.net/data/us/va/hopewell/citynat/index.htm

The VA also has a Gravesite Locator:
http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/j2ee/servlet/NGL_v1

If he is not at City Point, try the Richmond National Cemetery.
