Hi researchers,
Seeking to prove the death date of Benoni LEONARD or LEARNED was 20 May 1863 as well as his brother, Thomas LENNARD or LEARNARD. Was there a battle in the Civil War near this date in which both of them could have died? Their father was Samuel "Black Sam" LEONARD who m. 1773 in Taunton, Bristol, MA, Sarah or Mary WILLIAMS.

Benoni LEONARD was b. ca 1785 in possibly Massachusetts or CT, m. Mary or Lucy BROOKIN[G]S, and their children: Maryetta, Eliza, Harriet, Lucy, Cynthia Jane and possibly a son were of Oneida Co., Herkimer Co., Oswego Co., and Niagara Co., New York, married 2) Eunice BENEDICT 1825 in NY, and unknown if they had any children.

Thanks for your help,
Jan Jordan <jnrose@webtv.net>
