Gosh, thank you Scott and Rick. This is really great. Alexander Young was the son of Green Young and Sara. I need to check to see if I have the info on the census in Clarke County. Green shows born in SC. The names you mentioned are familiar and there was a large family. Alexander's wife, Maria Busby remarried in Mobile to Moses Clifton, so I was told she could not apply for his benefits. Would a land grant have been issued to Alexander's son? My gr grandfather, Alexander Young's son was George Washington Young of Mobile. He had a land grant and built a home in Stockton, Ala, abt: 1910. Someone in Baldwin County told me the grant may have been given to George if his father was killed in the CW. Do you have info on this subject??
May I inquire about the "expert" on the site you posted?
I am so impressed. I just posted this last night and now I find all this info. It is really great. I need to do some elininating.
I have a CIVIL WAR DAY BY DAY ALMANAC that I enjoy using for reference. So, I will read about the activities you referenced for A.A.Young..even though he is not Alexander(I think) :):):)
