Enrolled 9/3/1861 at Pittsburgh
Mustered in as Corporal, 9/3/1861
Mustered out: 7/1/1865
Age at enrollment: 22

Remarks: Enlisted in Company K, 1st PA Cavalry; transferred to Company G, 11th Regiment P.V.I. and promoted to 1st Lt., 7/16/1862; transferred to Company I and promoted to Captain, 3/28/1864; wounded at Wilderness, Va.; prisoner from 5/6/1864 to 10/7/1864; promoted to Brevet Major, 3/13/1865.

scroll down to the 11th (3-year service) and click on "11th Pennsylvania Volunteers." This section contains the organization and history of the 11th from Dr. Samuel P. Bates "History of the PA Volunteers." Following that is the list of engagements in which unit participated from Dyer's Compendium.

The muster rolls for each company are presented under the "11th PA Volunteers." He is listed in both Companies G and I.
