Clancy in India in the 1900s
Hello,
I am inquiring about my paternal grandmother's family, which was Clancy (we believe it was her mother's name).she was the only child born to her parents, but we have reason to believe she took on her mother's married name and not her father's last name.my grandmother has passed away and we do not know hardly anything about her family.what we do know is this:her name was daphne kohlhoff, born to an irish woman and indian man who died before she was even born. her mother had been married previously, and had several children (i think they would be clancys) and they resided in India, but I think have since passed away.however, their children would still be living, as would other relatives who might be there.there was a valentine clancy whom my father remembers from his childhood, but doesn't know what became of any of them.i know that my grandmother went to a catholic school (don't know the name) and then went on to be a stenographer in the indian navy, whereupon she met and married my grandfather, john kohlhoff.they resided in madras, india and had 6 children.if anyone has information on this lineage, please let me know! thanks.
