Last Will and Testament of Henry Clapper -
Bedford Co. Courthouse - Bedford, Pa. = Will Bk. I p. 351 21 April 1813
In the name of God, Amen.I, Henry Clapper of Woodberry Twp. Bedford County and State of Pennsylvania, farmer, being weak of body but sound mind. memory and understanding (blessed by God for the same) knowing the uncertainty of life and that it is appointed for all men once to die; to make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following viz: principally and first I commend my immortal spirit into the hands of God who gave it, my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian-like manner.At the discretion f my executors hereafter named and as to such worldly give and dispose of the same in the following manner to wit:I give to my well and beloved wife Eve the black mare, 2 cows at her choice, my bed I now lie in, and 2 other beds at her choice with the bedding thereto belonging, one ten plate stove with pipe, six puter plates, and further order and direct my executors to make public sale of my personal property, to collect my money after paying myjust debts.i give and dispose of the same in manner following- I give to my wife Eve the one-third of all my personal property yet remaining after my just debts be paid and then I give to my son John 100 pounds to be levied of my personal property and what yet remains my will is to be levied of my personal property and what yet remains my will is and order the same to be equally divided amongst my thirteen children viz: Catharine, Christena, Herman, Elizabeth, Henry, Ludwick, Susanna, Barbar, Magdelena, John, Abraham, Joseph, and Jacob.As to my real estate, I give and dispose of the same as follows - i give o my beloved wife Eve the tract of land and premises upon which I now live until my son Jacob arrives at the age of 15 years and after my son Jacob survives at the age of 15 years, I order and direct my executors to sell and convey my lands and equally divide the money arising therefrom: excepting what the laws of the Commonwealth hath provided for widows.i allow the same to be paid to my Eve the remainder to be equally divided amongst my thirteen children.I also order and direct my executors to put into interest the money of my estate both real and personal of such of my children as are not come to their respective age and to those of age I direct them to pay as soon as he money can be collected and still as they come of age I allow them to receive their respective shares.Excepting the 100 pounds first willed to my son John - I allow my executors to appropriate or what part is necessary for good education for the said John.Lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint my truly friends David Long of Woodberry Twp. Bedford County and George Faulkler of Allegheny Twp. Huntingdon County executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and annulling all former wills and bequeaths by me made and confirming this and no other as my last - in witness whereof I have this 21 day of April 1813 signed sealed and published pronounced and declared this as my last will and testament in presence of witnesses thereto who subscribed their names to such execution by request of the testator.

1 April 1826 - David Long as executor of Henry Clapper sold this land to John Holsinger.This land was situated in Greenfield Twp. Bedford Co. containing 60 acres of barren land for $54.60.Henry had a piece of this land to Harmon Clapper - son of Henry

Henry and both his wives interred in Pote Cemetery which at one time was Henry's farm. He lived in Woodbury Twp. (now Bloomfield Twp.) south of Bloomfield Furnace.
his first wife died probably between 1790 and 1800.Eve Nicewonger was the daughter of Abraham Nicewonger. Bedford Co. Orphan's Court Docket - Bk. 3 p.260 dated 3 November 1819 - Joseph Nicewonger, son of Abraham Nicewonger, deceased, of Woodbury Twp. Bedford Co. died intestate - states that Abraham Nicewonger left sixteen children (including Eve - intermarried with Henry Clapper) and petitioned the court to award an inquest to partition the plantation and tracts of land amongst the heirs.
