Hi Glenda,
I thought I'd post the information here for the benefit of others looking for their Clardy ancestors, but I'll also send you an email. We are indeed cousins.Byrd (or Bird) had at least 7 children w/Sarah.He also had a second wife (no children that I can find) by the name of Rutha Story (born 1813).Anyway, the children were John, Elizabeth (your g-grandmother), Joseph, Sarah, Jefie, MaryAnn (Polly), and Goerge.Goerge is my gg-grandfather.Goerge Clardyhad Jessie Clardy in 1883 and Jessie had Bertha May Clardyin 1912 and Bertha May had my mother Cordia Landry Boucher in 1946.I've gone as far back as 1706 w/direct ancestors (Benjamin "the immigrant" born 1706), though a Benjamin Clardy apparently came over from England in 1621 w/his father Francois Clitdieu. It looks like the name Clardy may be an anglicized version of the French name Clitdieu. This last Benjamin was a French Hugenot. You probably know that William and Elizabeth Ann are Byrd's parents. However, would you happen to know if William's father is Henry or Benjamin II?I don't know which is the father and which is the uncle.Benjamin I (born 1706) was their father.
