William moved to Buchanan Missouri. His father was Thomas Clasby, mother Martha Bourne. Children, Mary W. (my ancestress) born Sept. 30, 1803, Susan, Martha, William H., John A., Elizabeth M., Catherine Virginia, James D., Robert E.

John (Clasby) Gillespie descended from Thomas through his son Robert.

(See message # 108 for John's line) John has joined our Gillespie DNA Project. Since he is not a match to our other Gillespie family groups, he is the first in Gillespie DNA Project Group 23. We're in group 3. The kits are less expensive when bought through a family project and you have others to help you. You could also use the results of the kits you order to start a Clasby DNA Project when you have an administrator to help organize it. Our administrator, Connie McKenzie will be happy to help with any information you need. Her email address is

Please e-mail me, answer in the Clasby Genforum or both. I hope some of you join us.
